I worked as a clinical psychologist for many years in the NHS in Child and Adolescent Services (CAMHS), in both inpatient and outpatient services. I now work independently with clients of all ages and with a range of difficulties.
I offer both short and longer-term therapy, and take an integrative approach to my work, drawing on various therapeutic models including Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR, and mindfulness-based approaches. I adapt my use of these methods according to the needs of each individual client.
My approach with clients who may be struggling with difficult feelings and experiences is to cultivate a therapeutic relationship that is safe and healing, helping to provide clarity and support, and enabling them to restore greater balance in their lives. Therapy often includes exploration of the past and seeks to make sense of its impact on present difficulties. While much of my work aims to help with specific issues, I also offer therapy to those seeking to reflect and understand themselves better.
