Who we are
Schema Therapy School (STS) is co-directed by Dr Helen Startup and Janis Briedis who provide the training and some of the supervision required to achieve accreditation as a schema therapist. STS also has a number of associates delivering training workshops and supervision.

Dr Helen Startup, Clinical Psychologist Ph.D., DClinPsy
Helen is an NHS Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Research Fellow as well as an honorary Senior Lecturer with Sussex University and has worked in the NHS for the past 15 years.
Janis Briedis, Counselling Psychologist, MA, CPsychol
Janis is a Counselling Psychologist chartered with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and has worked in the NHS and private practice for over a decade.
